This website is created for the band students of the Stewart County School System in Dover, Tennessee. However, the information here can be helpful to any student wishing to play a brass instrument. This site is intended for beginning and intermediate brass students and focuses on giving you the steps for forming a great embouchure. Band directors and private lesson instructors can also benefit from this information. The embouchure is very important to the creation of a great tone. This website will give you explanations, tools, tricks, and advice to help you form the best embouchure possible.
About The AuthorMy name is Philip Bossenberger. I have been teaching at Stewart County High School in Dover, Tennessee since the Fall of 2009. This position is my first as a music educator. The courses that I teach include symphonic band, marching band, jazz band, general music, guitar and choir. I was born and raised in Michigan and lived there until moving to Tennessee. I attended Eastern Michigan University from 2003 until 2008 and earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. I am currently a third-year student in the Master of Arts in Band Conducting program at the American Band College of Sam Houston State University.
